Location: Cranston House, 271 Canongate, Edinburgh, EH8 8BQ (working from home is an option; office attendance twice a week)
About The Role
As Media and Public Affairs Manager you will bring to life the day‑to‑day services of Crisis and its national influencing agenda. You will develop, deliver and oversee high‑profile media, communications and political influencing campaign strategies to raise the public and political profile of homelessness in Scotland and to build momentum for Crisis’ work to end homelessness by 2040.
Responsibilities
You will:
* Secure high‑profile coverage and political engagement across print, digital and broadcast journalism.
* Advocate for solutions needed to end homelessness and inspire politicians to take meaningful action.
* Lead and motivate individuals or teams to achieve objectives and overcome challenges.
* Navigate competing priorities and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Produce creative approaches to new media opportunities and deliver engaging, relatable stories.
* Maintain a robust network within the Scottish media and Parliament to secure national policy change.
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful you need:
* Significant experience in a challenging, fast‑paced news, media and public affairs environment.
* Experience leading and managing teams.
* Excellent knowledge of the Scottish media landscape and Scottish Parliament.
* Ability to secure sustained high‑profile media coverage and craft complex stories.
* Strong news sense and creative approach to media opportunities.
* Proven track record in national campaign and parliamentary influence.
