Our school is an over subscribed and thriving Special School, based in Barnstaple, North Devon. We cater for children aged 5-16 with complex SEND needs, all of whom have Communication and Interaction needs and are working significantly below age related expectations academically. All of our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We are looking for 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistants.
The main responsibilities of this post are:
1. To co-ordinate and deploy teaching assistants across the whole school.
2. To work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure TA cover is in place across the school.
3. To teach classes/small groups on a timetabled basis.
4. To collaboratively organise and provide cover for absent teachers across the school.
5. To carry out appraisal, induction and probationary period assessments for allocated teaching assistants.
