The opportunity

DNA Payments is looking for a People Director. This role will replace the existing PD who will be retiring from our business. You will be leading an evolving team, covering all aspects of HR and L&D. The People Director is a senior-level professional member of the leadership team, overseeing human resources functions and the People proposition. You are responsible for developing and implementing People policies and programs to support a customer-centric and high-performing culture, leading the People team, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

As People Director, you will join our leadership team and oversee our People department. You will develop and execute People strategies aligned with our business goals and vision, overseeing HR operations including talent management, performance management, E,D&I, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, engagement, and ESG. You will handle complex and sensitive issues, foster a positive work environment, and promote our company culture and values.

You will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Location: office 3 days per week.


Day-to-day you will:

* Develop and implement a compelling People strategy and proposition that fosters employee engagement
* Participate in relevant Exco meetings ensuring representation of people strategies
* Develop and implement People plans, policies, and processes supporting our objectives and inclusive culture
* Implement strategies to develop colleague engagement in a customer-centric, high-performance culture
* Partner with business leaders to support managing people issues/challenges
* Manage and supervise the People team of 11 colleagues, ensuring high-quality service delivery
* Oversee recruitment and selection processes to ensure fairness and efficiency
* Design and coordinate performance management systems, providing feedback and coaching
* Plan and oversee training and development programs, including onboarding
* Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance
* Oversee employee relations issues and resolve conflicts professionally
* Ensure compliance with all relevant HR laws, regulations, and best practices
* Monitor and report on People metrics and KPIs
* Lead change management initiatives and organizational development projects
* Ensure effective, consistent people tools and systems across DNA


About you:

This is a hands-on role requiring:

* A strong background in People leadership with a strategic mindset
* Experience in payments/fintech preferred; call centre and field sales experience required
* Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or equivalent
* At least 5 years of senior HR or People leadership experience
* Deep knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal aspects
* Experience in developing and implementing People strategies and policies
* Experience managing HR operations and systems
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
* Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
