Accounts Assistant Conveyancing Milton Keynes - Permanent
Our growing client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and fast-paced conveyancing team in Milton Keynes. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment and wants to develop their career within the legal sector.
In this role, you will support the Accounts Manager with the financial administration relating to residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity and re-mortgages. You will play an important part in ensuring transactions run smoothly and financial processes are completed accurately and in line with regulations.
We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple tasks effectively. You should be comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with colleagues across the firm to deliver a high standard of service to clients.

Key responsibilities
Managing client account transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules
Reviewing and reconciling bank statements
Posting incoming and outgoing funds to client ledgers
Processing BACS and CHAPS payments
Preparing and checking completion statements
Assisting with the daily completion process for sale and purchase matters
Submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns to HMRC/WRA and ensuring payments are made within the required timescales
Responding to internal finance queries from colleagues across the business
Monitoring and resolving aged balances
Making payments to third-party organisations
Assisting with ledger and account reconciliations
Skills and experience Strong communication and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Experience working with sale and purchase ledgers
Previous experience in a similar accounts role (desirable)
Professional and proactive approach
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules (preferred)
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
