Multi:Skilled Shift Engineer, Bedfordshire (SG18). Commutable from Bedford, St. Neots, Stevenage, Royston, Hitchin, Biggleswade, Sandy, Welwyn. GBP52,500 + Overtime + 5 Bonus. 12hr Panama Shift: Days and Nights.
Role and Responsibilities
* Responsible for reactive and planned maintenance across all areas of engineering: manufacturing, production, site services, infrastructure and plant equipment
* Carry out PPM schedule effectively and efficiently
* Involved with site project work: installations and upgrades to machinery
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
* Dealing with high-speed food production, processing and packaging machinery, automation and controls
* PLC: electrical fault finding
* Worked on motors, servo drives, sensors, inverters, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, compressors
* Continuous improvements: suggesting new things, sharing ideas
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
* Have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
* Be a multi-skilled engineer: ideally with an electrical biased
* Must have worked in a food / FMCG manufacturing environment that is fast paced
* Working knowledge of a CMMS system
* Be a team player, proactive
* Qualified to HNC level
* PLC: electrical fault finding
* Able to fault find both electrically and mechanically
* Comfortable working at heights and in hot conditions sometimes
* Happy working in a time-sensitive busy environment
* Experience with continuous improvements and lean manufacturing
* Any qualifications in food hygiene, safety etc. beneficial
