Imperial Recruitment is recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to support day-to-day warehouse operations for our client in Newton Aycliffe. This role is ideal for a hands-on supervisor with strong organisational and leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations at all times. This includes supporting the Warehouse Manager with team coordination and workload planning, maintaining high standards of health and safety across the site, and operating forklifts where required while ensuring safe manual handling practices are followed. The role also involves monitoring stock levels, accuracy, and order fulfilment, as well as training, mentoring, and supporting warehouse operatives. In addition, the supervisor will proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and warehouse optimisation to enhance efficiency and performance.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role
* Valid forklift licence with practical operating experience
* Strong health & safety awareness and background
* Good leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Experience with warehouse optimisation or continuous improvement is desirable

* Overall management of warehouse operations, including goods inwards, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
* Drive warehouse optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation and company procedures
* Manage stock accuracy, inventory control, and space utilisation
* Coordinate with production, transport, and senior management to meet business objectives
* Monitor KPIs, productivity, and performance standards
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience in a warehouse management role, ideally within manufacturing or industrial environments
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Forklift licence and hands-on forklift experience
* Solid health & safety background with demonstrable compliance knowledge
* Experience in warehouse optimisation and process improvement (desirable)
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* IT literate with experience using warehouse or stock management systems
