Vision is currently working with a Construction Consultancy Practice providing expert Quantity Surveying, Project Management, and Specialist Legal Support services across the UK and Northern Ireland.
This is a senior role reporting into the Lead Surveyors, Regional Directors and Board of Directors, offering a strong opportunity for career progression and involvement in both pre and post-contract work.
The Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for full quantity surveying and estimating duties across the project lifecycle. You will manage commercial performance, support procurement activities, produce final accounts and claims, and ensure the company’s contractual position is protected. You will also be required to build and maintain client relationships and represent the business professionally at meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver estimating services including detailed BQ production
Provide full quantity surveying support from pre-contract through to final account
Lead on commercial and financial advice across projects
Provide procurement and contract support and advice
Manage cost control, value recovery, and cash management
Commercially manage subcontract packages and procurement processes
Protect the company’s contractual position on all projects
Prepare financial reports, final accounts, and claim documentation
Support the continued development and growth of the business
Pre-Contract Responsibilities:
Produce detailed measures and Bills of Quantities
Prepare feasibility studies and cost plans
Provide procurement and contract advice
Prepare subcontract enquiry documents and price tender submissions
Manage bid submissions and support tender processes
Attend client meetings and discuss project deliverables
Post-Contract Responsibilities:
Prepare budgetary advice including cash flow forecasts
Manage contract documentation including insurance and bond requirements
Produce procurement schedules and manage subcontract procurement
Issue valuations, notices, and ensure compliance with contract terms
Maximise value recovery and implement valuation/cash strategy
Prepare and manage EOT / L&E claims
Handle disputes and support dispute resolution
Maintain accurate records to support final account preparation
Attend site meetings as required
Claims & Dispute Resolution:
Prepare final accounts and claims
Lead dispute resolution processes
Maintain strong contractual control and documentation
Person Specification:
Degree qualified (or equivalent)
RICS membership preferred
Strong commercial awareness and technical understanding
Excellent communication skills
Results driven with a proactive approach
Confident decision maker with strong character
Team player with a professional and approachable manner
High level of IT competence
Ability to interpret contracts and technical documents
A good sense of humour is welcomed
