The creation and maintenance of effective relationships at all levels will be vital, as you will be responsible for promoting the improvement and quality of administrative practices to support patient care.
You will be a motivational team leader for service improvement and work collaboratively with all staff across multiple disciplines to adopt digital change and new ways of working.
To coordinate and ensure the patient journey through preoperative assessment is smooth, timely, and effective.
To provide senior support and expert knowledge to the team of Administrators.
To work with consultants and service leads to improve pathway delivery.
To oversee all administrative and clerical processes to enable a high-quality, effective, patient-focused service. The post holder will ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and achievement of all performance targets, providing regular updates on performance and escalating issues as needed to the Directorate Operations Manager.

The postholder:
* Will be the named pathway and failsafe coordinator for Specialty Services, ensuring failsafe processes are in place.
* Proactively manages patient pathways and resolves appointment queries.
* Works with clinical and secretarial teams to identify capacity and ensure timely care.
* Tracks patients and manages clinical pathways to ensure timely investigations, MDT discussions, and treatments.
* Supports service improvements related to administration and delivery of patient pathways.
* Liaises with clinical teams to expedite interventions causing delays.
* Supports the department in meeting performance indicators and manages the surgical patient tracking list.
* Acts as an escalation point for capacity or patient care concerns.
* Ensures correct booking of patient appointments, prioritising urgent cases.
* Monitors and acts on incomplete outcomes, ensuring clinics are updated promptly.
* Tracks patients through specialty services, ensuring follow-up and preventing patients from being lost to follow-up.
* Identifies capacity issues, calculates, and monitors waiting times, and liaises with managers.
* Uses the 18-week RTT pathway to manage outpatient pathways effectively.
* Ensures failsafe processes are in place to prevent delays and lost follow-up, prioritising patients at high risk of harm.
* Collaborates to identify and implement strategic service improvements.
* Analyzes and monitors patient activity and service performance against standards and targets.
* Builds and maintains effective relationships within and outside the service.
