Due to continued growth and an expanding product portfolio, Strickland MFG UK is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Administrator to join our established Purchasing Department.
General Purpose
The Purchasing Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Purchasing Department. This role requires a detail-oriented and highly organised individual capable of managing high volumes of purchase orders, supplier communications, and administrative processes efficiently. The postholder will play a key role in ensuring smooth purchasing operations, supporting the team in meeting departmental objectives, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Purchase Order and Invoice Administration
* Process a high volume of purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
* Check invoices against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
* Verify current prices against supplier price lists and update records accordingly.
* Handle and process import and export paperwork to ensure compliance.
* Maintain accurate purchasing records, databases, and filing systems for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
Supplier Communication
* Manage incoming and outgoing calls with suppliers, dealing with queries promptly and professionally.
* Handle and respond to high volumes of supplier emails in a timely and accurate manner.
* Communicate important feedback from suppliers to relevant internal teams.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
Team Support and Compliance
* Provide day-to-day support to the Purchasing Department to help achieve departmental and business objectives.
* Ensure compliance with internal processes, company policies, and relevant regulations in all purchasing activities.
* Support the wider purchasing team with general administrative tasks as required.
* Contribute to continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and supplier service levels.

Pay: Up to £27,500.00 per year
