Legal Assistant – Private Client
Harrogate | Full-Time
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join a busy Private Client department in Harrogate on a part‑time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a professional office environment and supporting fee earners with high‑quality document production and client communication.
The Role
You will play a key part in the day‑to‑day running of the department, ensuring documents are produced efficiently and presented to a high standard, and that clients receive a professional and responsive service.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Audio and copy typing using digital dictation
* Preparing legal documents, correspondence and bills
* Managing diaries and arranging appointments
* Handling telephone enquiries within agreed guidelines
* Liaising with clients and third parties
* Filing and general administrative duties
* Supporting reception when required
* Assisting colleagues and providing cover during absence
* Preparing instructions for accounts and outgoing post
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent word processing and audio typing ability
* A confident and professional telephone manner
* Good attention to detail and accuracy
* The ability to handle confidential information appropriately
* Experience working in an office environment
Previous experience as a Legal Secretary is advantageous but not essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is required. This is a varied and rewarding position within a supportive and professional team environment. It would suit someone organised, adaptable and keen to contribute to the smooth running of a busy Private Client department.
