Brundall Medical Partnership are looking to welcome a receptionist into our busy practice, to play a full and active role within our multi-disciplinary team. The role is maternity cover offered on a part-time basis for 29.5 hours per week. Monday: 08.30 – 13.00 & 13.30 – 17.00 Tuesday: 08.30 – 13.00 & 13.30 – 18.00 Wednesday: 08.30 - 13.00 Friday: 08.30 – 13.00 & 13.30 - 17.00 The main responsibilities of the role include: Receive patients and direct them to their doctor. Deal with patient requests for patient appointments either face to face or by telephone. Deal with all patient enquiries either face to face or by telephone. Make appointments on the computer system. Deal with requests for home visits, hospital appointments and hospital transport. Make telephone calls on behalf of the doctors. Deal with electronic task requests and messages from clinicians. Input information and date on to patient’s computer records in accordance with practice policy. Register patients on to the computer clinical system. Make and serve refreshments in turn with other reception staff. Sole receptionist on late evening shift Lock and secure practice doors and complete ‘End of Day’ procedure at end of evening shift. Holiday and sickness cover as required. Undertake training as required. Act as a chaperone when necessary. Assist with electronic scanning and processing of incoming post. Comply with practice policies. Comply with Staff Handbook Ensure reception waiting areas are kept clean and tidy. Other duties that may be assigned from time to time. About the Candidate You will be confident and outgoing individual with strong customer service experience and have the following skills and qualifications: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Experience of an administrative or reception duties. Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner. Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times. Experience of working with the general public. Strong IT and administration skills. Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable. Accurate and thorough Ability to communicate with people at all levels. Ability to work flexibly within a team regarding type of work. Ability to cover for holidays and sickness. Ability to work under pressure.
