Overview
To carry out a Sitting Service in a service user’s own home. We cover the whole of East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire too. These calls are carried out in blocks of hours for our clients. No personal care, moving or handling, or medication is involved with this service. The candidate must have proven Dementia or Mental Health experience due to the needs of our clients.
Duties
* To provide a high standard, person-centered support to clients at all times in a non-judgmental or discriminatory manner.
* Provide a positive and friendly approach to clients in their own homes and be respectful of their wishes at all times with a “can-do” attitude.
* Communicate with clients at all levels and be able to problem-solve to assist them with any concerns.
* Work on own initiative, be reliable and flexible to meet the needs of our clients.
* Be extremely reliable, friendly and sociable with clients.
* Ensure written records and care plans are maintained and updated where applicable; write short, comprehensive reports on clients as requested.
* Interact and communicate with the people you support in a way that promotes dignity, choice and respect at all times.
* Assist with basic meal preparation for the service users we support.
* Work as part of a team at all times and be respectful of the service users’ homes within which you will be working.

* Ensure the health, safety and welfare of the clients, while maintaining your own health and safety in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations.
* Adhere to the regulatory bodies in Scotland governing our industry (Basic Disclosure Scotland) and ensure that all relevant training is continued by each companion as part of this adherence, and comply with such requests made by Healthcare Plus Recruitment Homecare.
