Specialist Podiatrist
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is inviting applications for a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist to join the Podiatry Department. The role will support the Podiatry Service across the Pennine Lancashire footprint, which includes Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Ribble Valley, Rossendale, and Blackburn with Darwen.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical services in community, hospital, domiciliary, residential and nursing home settings for at‑risk patient caseloads, including diabetics, peripheral vascular disease, and connective tissue disorder patients.
* Deliver autonomous patient care, manage high‑risk patients with multiple clinical pathologies, and perform specialist interventions such as nail surgery, wound care, vascular assessment and biomechanics.
* Assess, plan and treat patients on a day‑to‑day basis following the Podiatry Service access criteria.
* Work across all localities within the service, including evening and Saturday morning clinics as required.
* Support clinical supervision of junior staff and contribute to clinical audit and professional development activities.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of professional and national guidelines and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Significant and extensive experience at the Band 5 Podiatrist level.
* Eligible for Enhanced Disclosure with the Criminal Records Bureau; the cost of this enhanced DBS check (£48.00) will be passed on to the successful candidate.
* Proven ability to work flexibly, communicate effectively, and exhibit organisational skills.
* Positive attitude towards personal and professional development.

Additional Information
The role requires an Enhanced Disclosure, and the Trust will pass the DBS cost to the appointed candidate. Candidates may pay this over 1–3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary, except for those applying as a BANK worker, where payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks.
Training and development opportunities will be provided, with support from Clinical Specialist Podiatrists and your locality Team Leader. The successful candidate will be part of a wider East Lancashire Hospitals Podiatry Team and will contribute to the clinical supervision of junior staff.
