Project Administrator (Construction) - 6 Month FTC Contract (Initially) to start ASAP.

Hours of Work: 40hrs Mon Fri onsite 8.30am 5.00pm + occasional weekends)
Salary: £15.00ph - £20.00ph (DOE)
Were recruiting for a Project Administrator to join our team on a 6-month assignment based in Carlisle, Cumbria. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping things organised, supporting a busy site team, and handling a variety of administrative tasks.
What Were Looking For
Essential:
Previous experience in an administrative role (ideally site-based)
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction / infrastructure environment
Desirable:
Experience within the power, utilities, or construction industry
Knowledge of site compliance requirements (e.g. National Grid / DNO standards)
Experience supporting onboarding and labour coordination
Familiarity with document control systems
Site Administration
Provide general administrative support to the site management team
Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems (electronic & hard copy)
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence (emails, calls, deliveries)
Coordinate site office activities and ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Compliance & Workforce Coordination
Support onboarding of new starters, ensuring all compliance documentation is received
Maintain records of:
Right to work checks
Training certifications (e.g. BESC, CSCS/ECS, IPAF, etc.)
Medicals and drug & alcohol tests
Track and monitor expiry dates and ensure workforce remains compliant
Data & Reporting
Input and maintain project data in internal systems and spreadsheets
Assist in the preparation of:
Daily site reports
Weekly progress updates
Labour trackers / timesheets
Collate information required for audits and client reporting
Document Control Support
Assist with document control processes including:
Drawing registers
Revision updates
Distributing documents to site teams
Ensure correct version control is maintained
Logistics & Coordination
Support booking of training, inductions, and site access
Assist with coordinating site visitors and inductions
Organise meetings, take minutes where required
Qualifications/Skills:
GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths & English
NVQ / Business Administration qualification (desirable but not essential)
Proactive and able to work independently
Strong communicator with a professional approach
Flexible and adaptable to site demands
Team player with a positive attitude
Working Conditions
Site-based role on a live substation / power project
May require occasional flexibility in working hours depending on project needs
