Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Kent
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering consultancy based in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take technical ownership of projects while mentoring junior staff and working closely with clients.
The Role
You will lead the structural design and delivery of a varied portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the design and delivery of structural engineering projects
Producing and checking structural calculations, drawings, and reports
Designing in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry
Managing and coordinating projects to programme and budget
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
Liaising directly with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities
Attending design team and site meetings
Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes, and relevant standards
About You
Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 6–8 years’ experience in a consultancy environment
Strong experience in building structures (residential and commercial)
Confident using structural design software (e.g. Tedds, Tekla, Robot, ETABS, or similar)
Able to manage projects independently and communicate effectively with clients
Working toward or already Chartered (CEng MIStructE / MICE)
