We care for and support children and young People ages 7 and 18 in residential homes in Cheshire. Our services include Therapeutic and EBD Children's Homes and Supported Living accommodation. Our work focuses on Children and Young People with emotional and behavioural difficulties and learning difficulties, vulnerable families, and unaccompanied asylum seeker children.

We’re now looking for a motivated and detail-focused Finance Assistant to work closely with our Finance Manager, supporting our central operations and gaining hands-on experience across the full finance function.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills and confidence to eventually cover all aspects of the role in the Finance Manager’s absence - a great step if you're looking to grow into more senior responsibilities over time.

💼 What you’ll be doing:

* Processing supplier invoices and reconciling statements on Xero
* Preparing and sending customer invoices; liaising with Local Authorities
* Supporting payroll for 130+ staff with timesheet and data management
* Helping with monthly reporting, analysis, and financial insights
* Managing fleet compliance, council tax for our property portfolio, and petty cash
* Supporting ad hoc finance and office duties as needed


✅ What we’re looking for:

* Proven experience in accounts, payroll experience preferred
* Strong skills in Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs), Xero experience preferred
* Super-organised, detail-driven, and ready to learn
* A great team player who wants to grow with a company that makes a difference


đź’¬ Interview details:

Interviews will take place on 31 July or 1 August
You’ll meet with the Finance Manager and CEO for a 1-hour session, including a competency-based interview and a short work-based exercise.
