Av and Electronics Tester wanted for a leading UK AV company based in the the North West Permanent position 5 days in the office
Test Technician with audio visual (AV) electronic products meet performance, reliability, and quality standards before deployment. This hands-on role bridges engineering and production, with a focus on testing, fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement. Conduct functional and performance tests on AV electronic products and subassemblies using diagnostic equipment and bespoke test rigs.
Document and analyse test results, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and industry standards (e.g., CE, FCC).
Identify and troubleshoot faults in PCBs, wiring, firmware, and interface connections; escalate unresolved issues to engineering.
Collaborate with production teams to streamline test workflows and ensure traceability of outcomes.
Maintain calibration records and ensure that test equipment is up to standard and used correctly.
Support root-cause analysis and corrective action processes for recurring product issues.
C ontribute to continuous improvement initiatives, feedback loops, and process documentation.
A ssist in prototype testing and provide feedback on manufacturability and serviceability.
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a test technician role within electronics or AV manufacturing.
Solid understanding of electronic components, schematics, and AV signal types (HDMI, RS232, audio protocols, etc.).
Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, and automated test platforms.
A bility to work independently with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Strong documentation habits and ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical teams.
Familiarity with ESD-safe handling and ISO-based quality systems.
Desirable Qualifications
BTEC, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electronics or a related field.
Experience with embedded systems and firmware testing.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
