Position Purpose:
The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry-leading service to clients by handling all document destruction needs, including transporting supplies and materials safely and in accordance with company policies and laws. This involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring all cargo is secured before transport.
Key Job Activities:
1. Performs onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information.
2. Performs pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on the assigned truck.
3. Reports maintenance issues to the Transportation/Dispatcher.
4. Operates company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and damage.
5. Complies with all laws governing driver fitness and hours of service.
6. Completes and maintains DOT logs when applicable.
7. Maintains security during collection by ensuring documents are retrieved and containers are locked.
8. Services accounts using a handheld device, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
9. Manages routes to ensure timely and accurate service.
10. Handles customer inquiries and problems promptly.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience:
* 3+ years of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
* Current driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
* May require immunizations and credentials based on customer requirements.
* Non-native English speakers are welcome if they can communicate sufficiently in English.
Certifications and Licenses:
* Driver's License
* Medical Examiners Certification
