Your Role as Deputy Manager (Learning Disabilities Children’s Homes)
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will support the leadership of the home, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people. You will support the Registered Manager with service setup, including Ofsted registration, recruitment, and embedding a strong, child‑centred culture from the outset. You will work within a well‑established support network including HR, QA, Psychology, Education, IT, Finance, and experienced peers across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes in a safe, nurturing environment.
* Assist in the day‑to‑day management of the home, ensuring compliance and high‑quality care.
* Lead, mentor, and develop staff, including supervision and rota management.
* Promote a strong child‑centred culture and consistent care standards.
* Support recruitment, training, and ongoing team development.
* Assist with Ofsted registration, service mobilisation, and building a new team culture.
* Deputise for the Registered Manager and provide leadership across shifts.
* Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to advocate for young people and drive exceptional outcomes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Childcare.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to achieve within 2 years).
* Experience within residential or social care settings.
* Knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and complex needs.
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, including deputising when required.
* Confident in multi‑agency working and advocating for young people.
* Compassionate, resilient, and values‑driven with an aspirational approach to outcomes.
