We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in Leeds, focused on bulk earthworks, drainage, and associated groundworks. This is a 12-month contract working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a high-value scheme in West Yorkshire. This role is suited to a Site Engineer with a strong background in earthworks, ground modelling, and setting out using GPS systems. Key Responsibilities: * Setting out for bulk earthworks, cut and fill, drainage, haul roads, and foundations * Carrying out surveys and producing as-built drawings * Monitoring volumes and managing materials in line with the earthworks strategy * Assisting with the preparation and review of RAMS * Maintaining site records, QA documentation and ITPs * Liaising with foremen, subcontractors, and site management teams * Ensuring works are completed to design, specification, and quality standards * Promoting and ensuring high standards of health and safety on site Requirements: * HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field * Previous experience on earthworks or heavy civils projects * Proficient in using GPS equipment (e.g., Trimble or Leica) and AutoCAD * Understanding of cut/fill balance and ground modelling principles * CSCS card * SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable) * Full UK driving licence * Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided) Contract Details: * Location: Leeds * Duration: 12 months (potential for extension) * Rate: £340 – £400 per day (outside IR35) * Working Days: Monday to Friday * Hours: Standard site hours with potential for occasional weekend work If you are interested please apply and someone will be in contact with you
