Foundation Programme Director (East Scotland)
Hours: Part Time, 1 PA (4 hours per week)
Duration: Fixed Term / Secondment for 36 months

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
This will be across 1 PA of time (1PA = 4 hours)
The Foundation Programme Director will be responsible for managing a Foundation Programme (E02 - FY1 & FY2) and the education and training needs of each individual on the programme.
The FPD for E02 in the East region will manage the programme and is open to permanent staff (Consultant, GP or SAS doctor) based in the East of Scotland. Accountable to the Postgraduate Dean or appropriate Associate Postgraduate Dean, applicants will be expected to have Recognition of Trainer status and will contribute, in partnership with the existing FPDs based in NHS Fife / Tayside, to the formal Foundation teaching programme. The FPD supports the teaching programmes and are a local Foundation contact and are regularly asked to gather QM type information for their units. It is possible to combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor.
