Multiskilled industrial technician needed for our Stoke on Trent based client.
You will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of both mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing and production environment.
Required skills & Qualifications:
* Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of failures across a range of mechanical machinery (gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics) and electrical (3-phase power, PLCs, sensors) systems.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools (Lathes, grinders, welding equipment)
* Digital Literacy: Ability to use computer-aided design (CAD) software and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
* Installation & Commissioning: Assist in the setup and testing of new industrial systems, machinery and production lines.
* Technical Proficiency: Good knowledge of mechanical drive systems, pneumatic, and electrical circuits (e.g, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
* Automation Skills: Experience with programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
* Education: Level3 NVQ or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical/ Electro-mechanical/mechanical maintenance.
* Soft Skills: Advanced problem solving, time management, and the ability to work under high-pressure “downtime” situations with process improvement experience.
Core Responsibilities:
* Maintenance & Repair: Implement & perform routine preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment operates efficiently and minimize downtime.
* Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions using diagnostic tools, sensors, and observations.
* Assembly & Installation: Assemble complex mechanical parts according to CAD designs and technical manuals.
* Testing: Performance and safety tests on new or repaired systems to verify they meet specifications.
* Documentation: Maintain detailed service records, maintenance logs, and reports of technical findings.
* Safety Compliance: Health and safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
