We are looking for dedicated and experienced tutors to support vulnerable secondary-aged pupils referred by the Local Authority (LA). These pupils often have complex needs and may have been out of education for extended periods, making tuition a crucial part of their learning journey.
This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for tutors who are passionate, patient, and committed to helping young people re-engage with education.
About the Role:
* Subjects: Primarily English and Maths
* Location: Tuition delivered in the pupil’s home, online, or in a public setting (e.g. library)
* Commitment: Minimum of 10–15 hours per week
* Session Reporting: You will be required to complete clear and consistent reports after each session, detailing:
o What was covered
o Objectives set
o Attendance and engagement levels
What We're Looking For:
* Minimum 2 years’ UK-based teaching or tutoring experience
* Proven experience working with pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Confident supporting pupils who may present with anxiety, low confidence, or behavioural challenges
* A nurturing and engaging teaching style – able to build trusting relationships and positive learning environments
* Strong organisational and communication skills

* Familiar with safeguarding procedures
* Able to commit to regular weekly sessions for continuity

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
