Social Media Joint Lead (Volunteer)
Project: from apathy to action
Start: ASAP
Number of vacancies: 2
Location: Remote (online) but bonus points if you're Cambridgeshire-based
Duration: Ongoing, flexible commitment
Are you passionate about social change, communication and the power of social media to drive change?
We’re looking for two creative and motivated individuals to take the lead on social media for apathy to action, a new project exploring why so many people feel disconnected from global crises and what we might do to re-engage them.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the project at the very beginning, helping shape its public voice and online presence. You’ll have the chance to design and run the social media strategy across X (Twitter), LinkedIn and Facebook, building awareness and community from the ground up.
What you'll be doing:
* Develop and deliver a social media strategy in line with the project’s aims
* Create engaging posts, visuals, and updates to drive interest, followers and interaction
* Manage the day-to-day running of the X, LinkedIn and Facebook accounts
* Research relevant content, hashtags, trends and campaigns
* Track basic engagement metrics and suggest improvements
* Work closely with the founder to support wider outreach goals
Who this is for:
* A student or recent graduate in communications, marketing, media or a related field
* Someone looking to build their portfolio and gain real-world experience
* Someone confident with social media tools and keen to try new approaches
* You're passionate about social issues, storytelling and reaching new audiences
* You're reliable, self-motivated and happy to work independently with light-touch support
This is a voluntary role, with flexible hours and plenty of room to bring your own ideas and creativity. Time commitment is up to you, but anticipated to be no more than two or three hours a week. You will run this jointly as part of a team of two, so a willingness to collaborate is vital.
Interested? Drop us a short email explaining why you'd be a good fit, and include links to any social media work or content you’ve done (if available).
