SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Nottinghamshire, NG20
Location: Nottinghamshire, NG20
Daily Rate: £105 - £115 per day
Contract: Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Start Date: September 2025
Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting pupils with SEND? Would you like to work 1:1 with children who have EHCPs in a supportive and inclusive primary setting?
About the Role
We're working with a primary school in Derbyshire to recruit a compassionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time role. You'll work closely with class teachers to provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and make progress both academically and emotionally.
The school has a welcoming, team-focused ethos, with a strong commitment to inclusive practice. You'll be based within the classroom and also support pupils during playtimes, trips, and small-group activities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs
Deliver learning activities set by the class teacher
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Help prepare and adapt classroom resources
Track and report on pupil engagement and progress
Support with basic care needs and wellbeing where appropriate
Use visuals, routines, and structured learning strategies
Liaise with families and outside professionals as needed
Supervise during lunch/playtimes and on school visitsWhat We're Looking For
Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience supporting children with SEND
Calm, proactive, and nurturing approach
Comfortable supporting communication and sensory needs
Basic understanding of IEPs and classroom adaptation
