The Senior Manager for Executive and Board Governance is responsible for leading executive and board governance fora for the PayPal UK regulated entity (PPUK). The responsibilities for this role focus on ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of central PPUK Governance and proactively driving governance best practice.
Job Description:
The Senior Manager for Executive and Board Governance is responsible for working with the UK COO to ensure PPUK governance commitments are met in line with UK regulatory and policy expectations, through:
* Collaboration and engagement with content and reporting owners across the PPUK three lines of defence, to drive effective discussion and decision making across PPUK governance fora.
* Ensure coherence and consistency in reporting across all governance fora including PPUK Executive Committee and PPUK Board.
* Work closely with Committee Chairs and content owners to ensure simplicity, clarity and consistency in written updates and reporting.
* Promote increasingly data-led, dashboard reporting which enables upwards reporting and escalation to PPUK Board and Group stakeholders.
* Deliver training on governance and reporting best practice.
* Manage and lead Board and Executive governance secretariat.
* Work closely with the UK Board Secretariat and PPUK CEO to ensure appropriate alignment between Executive and Board governance reporting.
* Lead annual governance effectiveness reviews and associated enhancement programmes.
* Manage PPUK governance related internal audit inspections and regulatory information requests.
Skills Required
* Excellent relationship management skills and ability to engage with and understand governance priorities of Executive Management.
* Excellent drafting skills and depth of experience in distilling complexity into clear and simple narrative, tailored for an Executive audience.
* Proactive approach to managing stakeholder engagement.
* A team player with excellent time management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities at one time.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Demonstrate ability to see the big picture as well as analyze the detail.
* A passion and curiosity for understanding and building knowledge of the payments and ecommerce business.
Experience you'll have
* 10+ years in the financial industry with proven experience in leading governance for a regulated financial services and/or payments firm.
* Proven ability to work in a global, matrixed organization
* Ideally, experience in secretariat, legal and/or communications function where drafting clear and simple narrative is a core capability.
