Our client is a leading architecture and planning practice in Truro, Cornwall, specialising in bespoke residential and commercial projects. They are currently seeking an experienced Associate Architect/Design Director with at least ten years post-Part 3 experience to lead their dynamic design team, composed of architects, architectural technologists, technicians, town planners, and landscape architects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, creative flair, and the ability to manage projects from concept to completion, with responsibility for delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the architectural design team, ensuring high standards of design and technical delivery.
• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept through to completion.
• Work closely with in-house town planners and landscape architects to integrate planning and landscape considerations into architectural designs.
• Ensure all projects comply with UK building regulations and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Provide strong technical knowledge, particularly at the detailing stage.
• Engage in high-end residential design, ensuring creativity and excellence in all aspects of work.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Ten years’ experience post-RIBA Part 3
* ARB accreditation and membership
* Excellent designer in the high – end residential sector
* New build experience
* Strong technical knowledge at detailing stage
* Excellent working knowledge of UK building regulations
* Excellent graphic and computer skills and experience using3D drawing software
* Experience of managing teams
* Proven practical experience in delivering residential work in the UK
* Highly creative and design orientated
* Heritage experience a bonus
* Professional, positive, enthusiastic and collaborative
* Full driving licence and use of a vehicle
Desirable skills:
* Ideally ArchiCAD
* AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
