Human Resources Advisor / People Advisor
London | Mainly on-site across two schools | Up to £45,000
A prestigious education group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor / People Advisor to provide hands-on HR support across two London schools.
This is a mainly on-site role, working closely with senior leaders, managers and employees across both school settings. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle, ensuring high-quality HR practice and compliance with employment law, safer recruitment and education-sector requirements.
The Role
Reporting to the Head, with a dotted line to the People Business Partner, you will act as a trusted first point of contact for HR queries across both schools. You will provide practical advice on employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, policy, HR administration and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
Manage disciplinary, performance, absence and grievance cases from start to conclusion, working closely with managers and senior leaders.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Support the full recruitment process, including job adverts, screening, interviews, offer management and onboarding for new starters.
HR Administration & Compliance
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure the Single Central Record is kept up to date in line with safeguarding, data protection and legal requirements.
Operational HR Support
Oversee contracts, salary changes, benefits, leave management and HRIS updates, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
Wellbeing & Inclusion
Support wellbeing initiatives and champion a positive, inclusive and supportive working culture across both schools.
Policy & Reporting
Assist with updating HR policies and employee documentation, and provide HR data and reporting on areas such as absence, turnover and employee relations activity.
Requirements
* CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience
* Previous experience in an HR Advisor or People Advisor role
* Strong experience managing employee relations cases
* Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Experience within education, schools or a regulated environment would be highly advantageous
* Confident working on site and building strong relationships with staff and leaders
* Strong attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate HR records
