Overview
Summary:
The Electrical Engineering On-Market group has an opening for a Co-Op who will contribute to the development of current generation medical diagnostic instruments. Product development activities include taking concepts through feasibility into engineering and manufacturing prototypes. The candidate should be comfortable both working independently and in project teams with an interest in hands-on laboratory work.
Responsibilities
Potential Projects Assignments:
1. Technical Design Reviews: Participate in a structured evaluation process used in engineering and product development to verify design requirements, identify potential issues, and facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams.
2. Schematic Capture: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. (Altium or DxDesigner). Understanding of basic circuit theory and ability to analyze simple circuits.
3. Prototype PCB Design and Test: Evaluate an early version of a printed circuit board (PCB) to validate its functionality and performance before mass production.
4. Test Equipment: Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers and power supplies.
5. Simulation Tools: Exposure to circuit simulation software (e.g., SPICE, Multisim, LTspice).
6. Electro-mechanical Systems Design and Controls: As an electrical engineer you will work with mechanical engineers to create and manage devices or systems that involve both electrical and mechanical components.
7. End of Co-Op Presentation: Provide a detailed summary of the assignments and projects you completed during your rotation, highlighting your specific responsibilities, technical contributions, and the outcomes achieved.

9. Clear verbal and written communication for reporting results and collaborating with team members
10. Willingness to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
11. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
12. Careful and precise approach to technical tasks and documentation.
13. Laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, data loggers, and logic analyzers
14. Python and/or C programming for hardware control
15. Data acquisition and processing

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
19. Currently pursuing B.S. in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 2 college semesters complete.
20. Ability to multitask.
The hourly range for this role is $22/hr to $30/hr. Individual compensation will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience and grade level completed.
