Job Overview
We're seeking an Operations Lead who will be part of the charity's management team, with oversight and development of projects with a significant element of earned income (currently includes our Wheels2Work moped loan scheme, our counselling service, and our UpFront community space), and line management responsibilities for up to three staff members and a number of volunteers.
Within the role you will also be the face of UpFront (our community space) for 2.5 days a week, providing a warm welcome, appropriate signposting, and co-ordinating/supporting activities. Working with colleagues, volunteers, clients and partners to further develop the UpFront offer, to meet emerging needs in our community.

Core Responsibilities
1. To provide project management for other assigned projects (those with significant earned income)
2. To provide line management to up to three staff members, and volunteer co-ordination to our UpFront volunteers
3. To provide a warm welcome to UpFront visitors
4. To provide information and signposting (or to make a referral for someone) to other local services (and to keep knowledge of other services)
5. To support activities of other organisations and groups by managing room bookings
6. Cash handling (supplies, donations, payments)
7. Where a client presents with a problem and asks for help, to provide one-to-one support (usually information and signposting), respecting confidentiality and safeguarding protocols
8. Working with colleagues, other charities, clients and volunteers to develop our offer and the protocols needed to support this
9. To work with colleagues within Hambleton Community Action to share learning and promote diversity of volunteering roles

Essential attributes:
· Entrepreneurial mindset
· Supervisory experience
· Project delivery experience
· Personal experience of working with members of the public, and an ability to build trust and rapport quickly
· Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
· Understanding of safeguarding and date protection good practices
· The ability and desire to develop mutually beneficially relationships with external organisations.
· An organised approach with the ability to effectively plan and manage the day to day running of the diverse elements of this project
· The ability to work alone unsupervised and complete all tasks agreed within deadlines whilst maintaining high quality standards.
· Strong levels of literacy, numeracy and IT to ensure any required paperwork is completed accurately, and that reports are produced on time and to a high standard.
· The ability to use online computer systems, and provide basic help to use a PC.
· Flexible approach to all tasks and duties with a team ethos and a willingness to undertake training and development activity.
· A good sense of humour, willingness to get stuck in, and loves a challenge
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
· Experience of partnership working with public, private and voluntary sector agencies
· Project management experience and or qualification
· First aid certificate
· Food safety qualification
· Cash handling experience
