About the role
Our Catering Assistants in our John Lewis shops work in either our customer restaurants or behind-the-scenes in our Partner (employee) dining rooms. You will offer excellent customer service and take pride in food preparation and presentation standards to ensure a great catering experience.
You will also support catering tasks such as stock replenishment and storage of deliveries.
Our Catering Partners enjoy free food in our dining rooms on workdays, with no split shifts or late evening work.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as a team to ensure smooth catering service.
* Provide positive interactions with customers and Partners, maintaining a friendly and welcoming attitude, and representing the John Lewis brand.
* Follow health and safety procedures and food safety regulations.
* Replenish stock to ensure availability for customers.
* Minimize food wastage through careful stock rotation.
* Resolve issues promptly using your initiative.
* Maintain personal hygiene standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Flexibility to work across the Catering team and ensure smooth operations.
* Passion for food.
* Attention to detail and high standards in food prep, hygiene, and cleanliness.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
