Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that food preparation and service run smoothly. Duties
* Assist in meal preparation and cooking under the guidance of chefs and kitchen supervisors.
* Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and marinating as required.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
* Support catering activities by assisting in the setup and serving of food at events.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods.
* Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and assisting in ordering supplies when necessary.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is highly desirable.
* Basic culinary skills, including cooking techniques and meal preparation methods.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality food presentation.
