Quantity Surveyor

We are working with a growing residential new build company known for delivering high-quality homes. They are looking to expand their team and are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor who brings not only technical expertise in cost management but also a practical background in carpentry and joinery.
The Role
You will play a key role in managing project costs, supporting the build process from early estimates to final accounts. With your hands‑on knowledge of carpentry and joinery, you’ll bring valuable insight to material take‑offs, trade coordination, and quality standards across our developments.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities
* Manage procurement, negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors, and maintain cost control
* Conduct site visits to assess progress, variations, and potential cost implications
* Work closely with the project team to ensure builds meet design, budget, and schedule requirements
* Evaluate tender documents, contracts, and project specifications
* Monitor and report on project financial performance
* Contribute technical insight on carpentry and joinery elements to improve build quality and efficiency
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector
* Strong background in carpentry and joinery – either through prior trade experience or significant on‑site exposure
* Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
