Job Title: Support Worker B74

Location: B74, Sutton Coldfield, Staffordshire
Salary: £17.80 gross per hour on weekdays, £19.80 gross per hour on weekends, £13.50 gross per hour on‑call night rate
Driver required. Own car needed to access client’s home and drive to activities. Use of car on duty (wheelchair accessible vehicle). Accommodation: own bedroom and bathroom while on duty.
Responsibilities
* Support Jack in all aspects of daily life, including personal care, mobility, transfers, and gym work.
* Encourage participation in activities and new experiences.
* Confidently manage challenging behaviours using strategies such as distraction, redirection, de‑escalation and positive reinforcement.
* Remain calm, think on your feet and use humour to diffuse situations.
* Provide minimal support during night shifts, when Jack generally sleeps well.
* Build a strong, consistent relationship and promote Jack’s independence.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Proven experience managing behaviours that may be challenging.
* Confidence to take Jack swimming.
* Own car with licence (driver required).
* Experience supporting individuals with Cerebral Palsy or a physical disability is desirable.
* Experience working in a family home is desirable.
Hours & Schedule
A minimum average of 20.77 hours per week, working 3 of 4 weekends each month. Shifts generally run from Friday or Saturday afternoon through to Sunday evening or Monday morning. Additional hours are available during school holidays and to cover sickness and annual leave.
