As Helpdesk Operator, you will provide an efficient and responsive service, maintaining a courteous and professional approach at all times whilst on Trust premises.
In this role, you will undertake necessary duties to ensure the maintenance of an efficient and effective service. All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security, Company and Trust policies and procedures.
The post holder may be exposed to some sensitive circumstances.
The Role
1. Answer incoming calls and face-to-face queries where required, promptly and in a polite manner, assisting callers and visitors in identifying the correct department/number and connecting calls or directing visitors accordingly. Completing appropriate records as required.
2. Operate both internal and external bleep and radio paging systems, including the programming of new pagers, issuing bleep batteries and testing of bleeps as may be requested.
3. Undertake any duties deemed necessary in order to promote the effective and efficient operation of the department e.g. maintenance of appropriate contact details, bleep numbers and on call details, the issue and recovery of ID cards, keys etc.
4. Participate where required in the production of ad hoc reports.
5. Participate in the regular maintenance of systems and ensure all calls/tasks are completed in line with company and Trust policies and procedures e.g. back-ups.
6. Ensure all calls/tasks are distributed effectively to the appropriate person and/or department.
7. Implement the appropriate procedures in the event of a major incident, bomb, fire, cardiac arrests and other notified emergencies in accordance with the Trust and Company procedures.
8. Ensure confidentiality, privacy and dignity is maintained at all times in accordance with the Data Protection Act and in line with Company and Trust policy, where appropriate.
About You
9. Use all mechanical and electrical equipment in a correct and safe manner, using appropriate methods of work, following training.
10. Maintain a clean, neat and tidy appearance, complying with Company & Trust uniform and hand care guidelines and high standards of personal hygiene.
11. Participate as required, in regular team meetings, training, performance reviews, job chats, return to work discussions and co-operate with accident and other investigations.
12. Engage in the process to identify your own personal development and training needs and attending agreed training programmes.
