PROPOSED SALARY RANGE : £55,300 - £66,200 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Purpose of The Role Lead the development and delivery of high-quality, distinctive content as a Content Editor. This role is responsible for shaping editorial output across platforms, ensuring it meets the highest standards of accuracy, creativity and compliance. You'll provide clear editorial direction for Production teams, use audience insight to inform decisions, and support and inspire teams to deliver engaging content that reflects diverse audiences.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Shape and deliver a clear editorial direction, leading the creation of distinctive, high-quality content across platforms, including developing and launching Radio Scotland programmes that grow and broaden audiences.
Lead and inspire a high-performing team, building a positive, inclusive culture across multiple sites that drives creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement, while maintaining the highest editorial and compliance standards.
Drive new ideas and formats, using audience insight and performance data to create compelling content that increases reach, relevance and audience loyalty.
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver strategically aligned content, managing production efficiently within budget and timelines to maximise impact and audience value.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Extensive editorial experience with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, innovative content, underpinned by sound editorial judgement, a thorough understanding of compliance and an in-depth knowledge of the Scottish radio market.
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment, fostering collaboration, creativity and high performance across multiple sites.
Strong understanding of audience behaviour, with experience using data and insights to shape content, drive engagement and inform editorial strategy, particularly within the Scottish radio landscape.
Demonstrable experience of developing new ideas and formats, taking content from concept to delivery across platforms, with a focus on growing and diversifying audiences.
Highly effective planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with experience delivering complex projects on time and on budget while building strong internal and external relationships.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience in developing content that grows and diversifies audiences, with a strong understanding of radio audiences and how to build reach and deepen engagement across platforms.
Experience of managing presenters and on-air Presenters, supporting performance and helping shape distinctive, high-quality output.
Track record of working collaboratively within teams to deliver standout, critically recognised or award-winning content.
Ability to bring together creative, editorial and production teams to deliver ambitious ideas that resonate with audiences and enhance impact.
