Job description
To support the Head Cook/Manager in the preparation and delivery of high-quality breakfast and lunch services, with a focus on managing the breakfast and pastry selection.
The role primarily involves cooking and preparing bought-in items, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained, and providing occasional support with counter service and school events.
Main duties:
* Assist the Head Cook/Manager with food preparation when required.
* Take responsibility for managing the breakfast and pastry selection each morning.
* Operate Rational ovens and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
* Prepare and heat bought-in paninis and other pre-prepared items for service.
* Follow a time-sensitive production schedule to ensure food is ready for service areas on time.
* Apply basic baking skills as needed (baking ability is desirable).
* Clean and maintain kitchen areas to a 5-star hygiene standard.
* Receive, check, and store deliveries in accordance with food safety procedures.
* Provide support at the service counter during busy periods.
* Back up the kitchen team during lunch service as needed.
* Complete all relevant food safety and kitchen training as required
* Assist in catering for after-school events or functions when necessary
