We are ambitious
That's why we are keen to hear from determined and motivated people like you, people who help us deliver on our promises.
We're currently recruiting for a Construction Project Manager to lead a complex civils and utilities scheme near Leiston, East Anglia (IP16). This high-profile project involves structural and infrastructure works such as drainage, groundworks, pavement, building construction, ductile iron pipework, racking systems, and concrete and steel structural components.
As this is a self-delivery role where we act as Principal Contractor, a strong background in managing construction works in highly regulated environments is essential. You will ensure that works are planned and executed to the highest safety, quality, and performance standards, aligned with programme and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage all construction activities on site, ensuring safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.
2. Own the project programme and manage commercial performance.
3. Oversee and support operatives, subcontractors, and the wider team to meet standards.
4. Ensure compliance with Clancy's Management Systems, including safety and environmental plans.
5. Manage health, safety, environmental, and quality performance, including RAMS, lifting operations, and temporary works.
6. Provide visual leadership on site, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
7. Maintain accurate reporting and project tracking for weekly reports and client updates.
8. Build and maintain relationships with clients, supply chain, and stakeholders.
9. Lead and mentor team members, promoting skills development and high performance.
10. Encourage innovation and value engineering in project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
You are a degree-qualified civil engineer (or have equivalent experience) with a CSCS card, SMSTS certification, and a full UK driving licence. You should have significant experience managing civil engineering or utilities projects, with knowledge of CDM regulations, NEC contracts, and temporary works.
Strong leadership, site delivery, and commercial management skills are necessary. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities are also essential. Ideally, you are working towards professional chartership (ICE, CIOB, CIHT, or APM) and may have additional qualifications such as Temporary Works Supervisor, IOSH, ILM Level 3, or formal CDM and NRSWA training. Experience with confined spaces, lifting operations, and complex infrastructure projects is a plus.
