?? Registered Mental Health Nurse – Community-Based Role (Afan Cluster)
?? Temporary Contract: ASAP Start – March 2026 (Potential for Permanent)

Reed Recruitment is currently seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join a dynamic and supportive team delivering community-based mental health care across Port Talbot and five surrounding practices. The role is most likely to be based at The Mount Surgery, with some travel between practices as needed.
The Afan Cluster is made up of the following GP practices: Afan Valley Group Practice, Blaengwynfi Health Centre, Cwmafan Health Centre, Cymmer Health Centre, Fairfield Surgery, King’s Surgery, Mount Surgery, Riverside Surgery and Rosedale Medical Practice.
?? Key Responsibilities:
* Work autonomously to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a range of mental health conditions.
* Develop and implement individualised treatment and medication plans.
* Deliver therapeutic interventions including counselling, psychosocial support, and medication management.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Clinical Leads, Psychologists, Social Workers, and GPs.
* Monitor patient progress and provide ongoing support within the community.
* Educate patients and communities on mental health awareness and prevention.
