Shop and Viewing Gallery Manager/Heathergems Jewellery Shop
Location: Pitlochry, Scotland
Position: Full-Time 40hrs, 5 days out of 7 (Monday to Sunday rota)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Heathergems — a proud, family-run business now in its third generation. We are the only manufacturer of Heathergems in the world, offering a truly unique and handcrafted product made from Scottish heather.
Based in the heart of Pitlochry, our Shop and Viewing Gallery welcomes visitors from across the globe who come to experience the beauty and craftsmanship of our jewellery and giftware. As Manager, you'll help bring this story to life every day — leading our retail team, showcasing our heritage, and creating an unforgettable customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Lead day-to-day operations of the shop and viewing gallery.
* Deliver exceptional customer service to local visitors and tourists alike.
* Use your visual merchandising skills to maintain beautiful displays and inspire purchases.
* Oversee stock control, ordering and replenishment.
* Handle till operations, including cash/card payments, refunds, exchanges, and cashing up.
* Produce weekly reports for senior management.
* Promote Heathergems across social media platforms and support brand marketing efforts.
* Build relationships with local businesses, tour operators, and tourism groups to drive footfall and sales.
* Support and lead your team by example, motivating and mentoring staff.
* Producing monthly staff rota.
* Recruitment for seasonal staff.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous retail management experience preferred.
* Confident with IT systems and reporting tools.
* Strong understanding of visual merchandising for windows, cabinets, and retail shelving.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A flexible approach to working hours — able to work 5 days over 7 including weekends.
* Passion for Scottish crafts, heritage, and storytelling.
