Overview
Reporting to the Head of Centres of Excellence, this role will lead DVLA's sustainability, environmental and compliance agenda, shaping how the organisation responds to the climate challenge and delivers lasting environmental impact.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver the Sustainability Management Plan and overall action plan to meet strategic objectives and the Greening Government Commitments.
* Ensure sustainability objectives are fully integrated into delivery models of each Directorate and advise the Executive Team on compliance requirements and risks.
* Maintain ISO14001 Environmental Management accreditation and drive continuous improvement through data, MI and reporting.
* Build strong relationships and influence at all levels to champion innovation and turn strategy into measurable outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrable leadership experience, managing and motivating a team.
* Professional sustainability experience, driving change and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
* Knowledge of current legislation relating to sustainability and ISO14001.
* Evidence of relevant accreditation such as MISEP, MIEM or equivalent.
