Location: SW London
Our client, a retailer of premium fresh food that also manufactures a range of own-label products, is seeking a temporary Technical Assistant to join their established team.
This role is to support the Technical Manager in ensuring the business meets its obligations concerning food safety and quality. It will require a more focused approach to quality and technical management in our business.
Flexibility will be needed on working days and will involve some weekend work.
This role is initially offered on a three-month contract with a possible extension thereafter.
The Benefits:
* £11.45 per hour rising to £11.75 per hour after probation
The Role:
* Assisting with the development and improvement of the company’s safety and quality culture.
* Working alongside the production team to ensure paperwork is being completed correctly, accurately, and in line with the site HACCP system and FSMS.
* Conducting internal audits and coordinating the timely completion of corrective actions identified.
* Logging customer complaints and non-conformances and assisting with investigations where required.
* Ensuring supplier and raw material documentation is accurate and kept up to date.
* Goods in and goods out QC checks.
* Dealing with supplier issues and non-compliance.
* Coordinating samples for the lab as per the site testing schedule.
Our Ideal Candidate:
* A food science degree and/or previous experience of the food industry is desirable.
* Highly organised
* Strong analytical skills
