We're looking for an experienced and driven Commercial Workshop Manager to lead one of our sites to success, ensuring we deliver exceptional results for our customers and our team.
The Role
As a Commercial Workshop Manager, you will take full ownership of the day-to day operation of the workshop. Leading and developing a skilled team of technicians, you will drive productivity, maximise workflow efficiency and ensure the delivery of outstanding quality repair and maintenance work. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance and overseeing quality control processes, ensuring all repairs are completed to the highest standards and in line with company and manufacture requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive a consistent, high-performing workflow within the workshop by effectively allocating tasks, monitoring progress, and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Technicians to drive site performance and exceed financial targets.
* Oversee workflow planning and operational efficiency to ensure seamless day-to-day performance
* Ensure all repair work is carried out in full compliance with company processes, BSI standards and manufacture specifications.
* Deliver daily output in line with site performance targets and budget expectations.
* Build strong relationships with customers, insurers, and suppliers.
* Uphold and promote Steer Automotive Group's values of excellence, innovation, and integrity.
About You
* Proven experience as a Workshop Manager within the commercial repair and maintenance industry, including both Bodyshop repair and Truck & Trailer maintenance.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including End Point Assessment (EPA) requirements and risk assessment procedures.
* Proven experience working within a fast-paced workshop environment
* Experience leading, coaching and developing a team to achieve high performance and continuous improvement.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong organisational and time management abilities
* A track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
* A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and quality work.
