CONTRACT TYPE: 12 month Fixed Term Contract/Attachment, Full-time
DEPARTMENT: Technology & Media Operations - Archives, Technology & Services
LOCATION: London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Salford, Newcastle - Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £44,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Your role will be to review existing business processes and how we manage and provide access to the BBC's archive to our varied user groups. Working with colleagues across teams within Archives, Services & Technology, you will analyse and evaluate the current provision and will use data-based evidence to identify options to simplify, standardise and improve our service to customers whilst ensuring all information security requirements are met. You will support and implement any changes that are required, ensuring timely and effective communication with all stakeholders.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
We're looking for a proactive individual to join the BBC Archive Services team, supporting a front-line enquiries service used by BBC production teams, independent creatives, and the public. You'll play a key role in improving access to our archive, helping customers discover and reuse material for BBC audiences, while ensuring our content remains safe and secure.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working independently on a dedicated project/s, turning ideas into real outcomes. You'll need strong organisational and time management skills, the ability to handle competing priorities, and a keen eye for detail and consistency across documentation. Please note that the location is flexible with hybrid working, however occasional travel to some of the sites listed may be required.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT: • Research, analyse and interpret complex information to identify issues and areas for improvement
• Liaise with stakeholders and teams to gather and disseminate information in appropriate and effective ways
• Assist in the formulation of communication, change and engagement plans
• Provide clearly articulated and timely status and progress updates against plans.
• Analysis: detailed analysis of information, deriving intelligence to support decisions.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Experienced in supporting project delivery or business change management activities and/or committed to career development in this area, knowledge of project management terminology, tools and techniques.
• Working examples of data gathering and business analysis (including structuring and translating data into the most meaningful information for the audience), documentation, system/data analysis and data interrogation in business process modelling, analysis and functional design, writing business models and processes.
• Examples of interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and manage a range of relationships in a complex environment with an ability to present information accurately and concisely combined with the ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and discretion.
• Examples of translating project/programme/change requirements into clear language.
• Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) skills.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
• A recognised project - Lean (Six Sigma Green Belt) - or change management qualification; or demonstrable career development activities.
• Experience and understanding of digital corporate communications tools.
• Knowledge of the media sector and broad understanding of project delivery in a broadcast/media environment.
• An understanding of Information Security practices and policies.
• A customer service focussed approach
