Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an Automation Platform Specialist to join their team. This is a contract role and offers the opportunity to work 100% remotely during UK time, with occasional visits to the customer's office in London or Reading for workshops and whiteboard sessions. The project is expected to start around June 2025 and will last until the end of 2025, with a possibility of extension.Key Responsibilities:Delivering Network Automation using industry-recognised tools such as Cisco NSO, Itential Automation Platform (IAP), HashiCorp Vault, Ansible, and Juniper ApstraManaging and deploying applications on OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker platformsUtilising GitHub, JIRA, and related Agile/DevOps tools for effective project managementWorking within Linux, networking, and cloud environments (vSphere, OpenStack, AWS, etc.)Developing and maintaining scripts using languages such as YAML, JavaScript, Python, Bash, and AnsibleInteracting with customers in English to ensure clear and effective communicationParticipating in preparatory and client interviews as necessaryJob Requirements:Experience with Fixed Telecoms Network (FTN) and IT NetworkProficiency in Linux operating systems and networkingStrong knowledge of Python for automation and scriptingExperience in network automation tools and frameworksUnderstanding of network firewalls, routers, and switchesProven ability to work within Agile and DevOps environmentsExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAdditional Information:100% remote work during UK time, occasional visits to London/ReadingProject duration: until the end of 2025, with a possibility of extensionIf you have the relevant skills and experience and are looking for a challenging role within the Defence & Security sector, we would love to hear from you.
