Are you seeking a role that will enable you to make a positive impact on the lives of young people facing challenging circumstances? Horizon School, Hartlepool Pupil Referral Unit is looking for Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils (Key Stage 3 and 4) in both 1:1 and classroom settings. Pupils may have faced challenges that affected their experiences in mainstream schools, including low self-esteem, social and emotional difficulties, or additional special education needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will mentor students and support them to maximise their progress and achievement.
This Teaching Assistant role is based in a supportive Pupil Referral Unit in Hartlepool that prioritises student and staff wellbeing. You’ll join a flexible staff team delivering a range of teaching and learning interventions to pupils.
Responsibilities
* Guide the learning of pupils (Key Stage 3 and 4) in 1:1 and classroom settings.
* Mentor students to maximise progress and achievement.
* Deliver a range of teaching and learning interventions as part of a flexible team.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of working with children with SEN needs or within a Pupil Referral Unit is desirable.
* Alternatively, possess attributes suitable for working with this cohort.
