Care & Support Worker
Location: Haringey
Salary: £28,860
This role will be subject to an Enhanced Adult DBS check.
Our service supports people across Haringey with severe and enduring mental health needs. As a Care & Support Worker we’ll make a real difference to their lives by developing personal, flexible and recovery‑focused support plans that help them take control, improve their quality of life and face the future with confidence.
The service caters to adults diagnosed with severe and enduring mental illness and on the enhanced level of the Care Programme Approach. Those with co‑existing issues such as substance misuse or mild learning disabilities are not excluded but will undergo a full assessment to determine suitability of support.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing person‑centred care in line with recovery principles.
* Working a rota that includes late shifts, nights, weekends and bank holidays; full‑time hours of 37.5 hrs per week, with overtime available.
* Maintaining accurate records of progress, supporting the Care Programme Approach and healthcare plans.
* Facilitating appointments, community participation and activities that promote independence.
* Responding to changes in clients’ needs and escalating appropriately.

The Ideal Candidate
We’re ideally looking for a Care & Support Worker with experience working with people with long‑term mental health issues, a good understanding of the challenges they face, and familiarity with the recovery model. You should be a team player, energetic, with strong communication skills, a flexible approach and a positive attitude to achieve targets in a challenging, changeable environment. With empathy, understanding and patience we expect you to enjoy talking to people and to be passionate about helping them.
