The Vacancy
The Technical Director of Water Quality will be responsible for leading the Toxicology and Microbiology team as part of the Water Science directorate at WRc. This is a full-time (permanent), hybrid role based in Swindon.
The rolewill involve growing WRc's internal capabilities, building a high-performing team and positioning the business as a key leader in public health & water quality consulting and research.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Lead and develop WRc's Water Quality team, setting the vision, goals, and strategic direction.
* Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand WRc’s services and secure new business.
* Proposal Development: Leading on proposal development ensure clients requirements are met
* Technical Leadership of Projects: Oversee the delivery of high-quality, multidisciplinary projects, ensuring client satisfaction.
* Technical Expertise: Provide thought leadership and technical insights into Public Health, Water Quality, Toxicology, Microbiology, Water Safety Planning or related fields.
Person Specification:
* PhD and/or MSc in Microbiology, Toxicology, Environmental Science or related field
* Previous proven experience in leadership and line-management roles
* Member of a relevant professional body and a Chartered Scientist or similar relevant chartership.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop others and teams.
* Extensive proven experience in Public Health, Water Quality, Toxicology, Microbiology, Water Safety Planning, and/or Water Quality Regulation.
* Full UK driving licence required.
Salary and Benefits:
* Up to £75,000 based on experience
