Position
To provide an accessible and effective nursing service to children and their families, taking forward the Public Health Agenda to maximise the health and wellbeing of all children. The childhood flu immunisation programme is a key public health measure aimed at reducing health inequalities by focusing on preventative care of school‑age children. As part of the Children’s Immunisation Service the post holder will provide professional nursing skills and knowledge to ensure the effective delivery of the Scottish Influenza programme.
This is a fixed term contract from 14 September 2026 to 27 November 2026.
Hours
Hours of work will be 0900–1300 or 0900–1500 (Monday‑Friday) depending on the school size. Annual leave week on 12‑16 October.
What You Will Do
Work as part of an integrated NHS Children and Families Health team, delivering immunisation services in all secondary schools in the three localities in Ayrshire, ensuring a high‑quality, patient‑centred provision which is responsive to local need.
Knowledge, Training And/Or Experience Required
* Registered Nurse
* UK driving licence and ownership of a car
* Evidence of further professional development
* Demonstration of communication skills
* Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team promoting integrated nursing approaches
* Experience working with children and families
* Community experience desired
