Energus is a training and conference facility based in West Cumbria. We facilitate award winning Graduate and Apprenticeship Programmes nationally on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and the wider nuclear industry. Energus have over 10 years' experience managing Graduate and Apprenticeship Programmes across the UK. We host awards evenings, assessment centres, business conferences and industry dinners, as well as smaller training sessions and meetings.
The desired start date for this role is Monday 10th August 2026.
The location of this apprenticeship is West Cumbria, in the Energus building on Lilyhall industrial Estate.

Your Programme
For the duration of your apprenticeship you will be employed by Energus and work primarily in the Events and Marketing department. You will undertake a variety of tasks and processes within the team, developing your overall business knowledge.
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the team prioritising work as necessary.
This apprenticeship is delivered in line with Apprenticeship Standard ST0070 - Business Administrator and will be delivered in conjunction with the training provider, Lakes College. The apprenticeship contract will last 21 months.

Responsibilities
This role will require you to:
* Ensure compliance with Data Protection laws and internal procedures.
* Support the Events Team with room bookings and client communication.
* Maintain strong relationships with conference and event clients.
* Deliver high‑quality customer service before, during and after events.
* Work alongside Facilities and Catering teams for event setup and delivery.
* Support evening events when required, including customer contact or bar assistance.
* Assist with marketing campaigns and creation of promotional materials.
* Create social media content.
* Support website maintenance and online advertising.
* Prepare marketing communications for clients, stakeholders, and learners.
* Use CRM systems accurately and consistently.
* Carry out administrative duties across the Events & Marketing department.
* Provide front‑of‑house customer service on the Reception desk, including greeting visitors, handling enquiries and assisting tenants.
* Complete general administrative tasks such as filing, telephone enquiries, and email management at Reception.
You will manage
* Own performance, including self‑development.
* Own workload, including time management, ensuring time is set aside for projects and learning required for apprenticeship.
* Any other duties suitable to experience and skills.
Qualifications and Skills
* GCSE Maths & English A*–C (9–4) or willingness to complete Functional Skills.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and confident.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
* High attention to detail.
* Friendly, approachable and confident in customer‑facing situations.
* Must be 18 or over due to lone working responsibilities on Reception.

Step Two: Complete a short psychometric assessment
The link to the psychometric assessment, called Neurosight, will be emailed to you between 1 and 7 days after your application. Please aim to complete the assessment within 3 days. We will send reminders after this period.
Step Three: Half Day In-Person Assessment Centre
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to join us for an in-person session, consisting of a behavioural interview and a practical exercise. These will take place in the week commencing the 8th of June.
